Patient Visit

The Regional Joint Assessment Program is located at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, in the Orthopedic Clinic. This program helps people with hip or knee joint problems.

Patients are assessed and receive education on weight management and joint maintenance. As well referrals are provided for physiotherapy and aquatic programs.

Information on lifestyle changes is given and x-rays and lab work are arranged if needed. Some patients may require joint replacement surgery.

You may be seen by members of the health care team:

What to bring with you:

  • Your health card
  • A list from your pharmacy of all the medications that you take
  • A list of all herbal, over the counter medications and vitamins you take
  • One friend or family member that will be able to help you with all the information that you will be given

The team will discuss treatment options that may help you and then come up with a plan for you.

To all patients

Please wear comfortable shoes and loose fitting comfortable clothes with no metal clips, zippers or snaps. Plan to spend about 2 hours in the clinic.
